Privacy Policy

The short version

Pic2Emoji turns a photo into a custom emoji. To do that we need your photo for a few seconds — that's it. We don't require an account, we don't build a face database, we don't sell anything, and your uploaded photo plus the generated emoji are deleted within 24 hours.

During the public beta, photo handling happens entirely in your browser: the image you select never leaves your device until AI generation launches.

What we collect

Photos you upload: processed only to generate your emoji, then deleted. We do not use your photos for advertising, and we do not publish or share them.

Email address: only if you submit the waitlist form or contact us. We use it to send your launch code and notify you when AI generation is live, and to answer your message. No newsletter spam, unsubscribe in one click.

Basic usage data: aggregated page views and error logs from our server logs, so we know which pages people use. This data is not used to identify you and is not sold to anyone.

How your photo is handled

When AI generation launches, your upload is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our processing pipeline, used once to render your emoji, and then queued for deletion. Generated files are removed from our storage within 24 hours.

You can request immediate deletion of anything associated with your email by writing to [email protected] — we action those requests within 7 days.

What we never do

We never sell or rent your personal data. We never use your photos to train models that generate other people's content. We never add hidden watermarks, and we never require an account to generate your emoji.

Cookies and third parties

We keep cookies to a minimum: strictly necessary cookies for the site to work. We don't run third-party analytics or cross-site tracking cookies.

Third-party services we rely on: Static Forms (waitlist form processing — stores the email you submit and forwards it to our inbox), Google Fonts (typography) and Cloudflare (CDN and HTTPS termination). The page is served from our own server; we don't run third-party analytics. These providers may process technical data such as IP addresses in order to deliver the page.

Children's privacy

Pic2Emoji is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted a photo or email to us, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] — no forms, no hoops.

Data retention

Uploaded photos and generated emoji files: deleted within 24 hours. Launch-code emails: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Aggregated analytics: kept for up to 12 months.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data in a way that affects you, we'll update this page and revise the date below. Material changes will also be announced to waitlist members by email.
